"She had this snake and realized she had no idea what she was doing, so she gave it to me. Actually, now, Pandora is the longest living of all my so-called rock-and-roll snakes."

- Slash (Guns 'n Roses)

Must Knows

Snakes are not usually great pets for kids

Some snakes can live for up to 30 years in captivity and deserve a knowledgeable family to be caring for them during that time. Snakes do not make good pets for small children for a multitude of reasons, so please consider YOUR new pet snake if you bring one into your home that you think your kids will like. Snakes eat small rodents (sometimes live, sometimes fresh), can be escape artists, and require specialized care compared to other pets. These animals require a special type of person to care for them and this should be respected when considering bringing one into your family!
